Local Brief
TOWANDA – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) announced recently that her district offices will be closed for PACE/PACENET training today. Her staff will spend the day in Williamsport learning ways to better assist residents of the 110th Legislative District.
PACE and PACENET are programs administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. These programs offer comprehensive prescription coverage to eligible older Pennsylvanians, and cover most medications that require prescriptions.
With the recent enactment of Act 111 of 2006, the PACE Plus Medicare Program, PACE/PACENET will “wrap around” the new federal Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program and fill gaps in the coverage.
Individuals earning up to $14,500 annually, and married couples earning up to $17,700 per year, are eligible for the PACE program. PACENET income limits are $23,500 for individuals and $31,500 for couples.
To qualify, older residents must be 65 years of age or older, a Pennsylvania resident for at least 90 days prior to the date of application, and cannot be enrolled in the Department of Public Welfare’s Medicaid prescription benefit.
Pickett’s district offices will resume services Wednesday at 9 a.m. at 321 Main Street, Towanda, and at 8:30 a.m. at 106 West Packer Avenue, Sayre.
Constituents who need urgent assistance on Tuesday should contact Jill Beatty in Pickett’s Harrisburg office at 717-783-8238.
For more information on PACE, PACENET or any other state-related program, residents are encouraged to contact Pickett’s district offices at (570) 265-3124 in Towanda or (570) 888-9011 in Sayre.
