Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently the following persons pleaded guilty and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Court:
Michelle S. Blowers, 26, of RR 2, Box 3030, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 90 days. A drug enforcement agent of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Blowers for the offense in August, following investigation related to a reported parole violation that occurred in Monroe Borough.
Walter J. Shulas Sr., 64, RR 2, Box 276S, P.O. Box 97, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to Harassment, a summary offense, and was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of one day. Trooper Thad Warnick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Shulas for the offense in October, following investigation of a reported domestic incident that occurred in Ulster Township.
Michael J. Horton, 27, RR 5, Box 5414, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 30 days. A drug enforcement agent of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Horton for the offense in August, following investigation related to a reported probation violation that occurred in Sheshequin Township.
Billy L. Bacon, 35, 14 W. Main St., Apt 13, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to Criminal Mischief, a summary offense, and was sentenced to pay restitution in the amount of $100 and court costs. Chief Kyle Weisel of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Bacon for the offense in October, following investigation of a reported incident of vandalism that occurred in Troy Borough.
George M. Shaw, 50, RR2, Box 186G, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to Harassment, a summary offense, and was sentenced to imprisonment for 90 days. Trooper Jeffrey S. Creedon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Shaw for the offense in October, following investigation of a reported domestic incident that occurred in Terry Township.

Barry H. Keene, 30, 74 McCloe Lane, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Keene will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Keene faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Thomas J. VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Keene for the offense in June 2007, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa., the following persons entered guilty pleas:
James Place, 35, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia, a misdemeanor. Place will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Place faces a maximum sentence of up to five years, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least six months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Place for the offense in February following investigation of a possession offense that occurred in Wysox Township.
Robert Stevens, 36, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Stevens will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Stevens faces a maximum sentence of up to six months, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre borough Police Department arrested Stevens for the offense in May, following investigation of a traffic offense that occured in Sayre Borough.
Brian Mullen, 33, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Accident Resulting in Personal Injury, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Mullen will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Mullen faces a maximum sentence of up to five years, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mullen for the offense in April, following investigation of an auto crash that occurred in Sheshequin Township.
Michael Paul Lain, 28, New Albany, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Theft by Unlawful Taking, a felony of the third degree. Lain will be sentenced in December, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Lain faces a maximum sentence of up to seven years, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lain for the offense in July, following investigation of a theft that occured in Overton Township.

Mann will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Mann faces a maximum sentence of up to six months, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Paul Cady of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Mann for the offense in May, following investigation of a traffic offense that occurred in Troy Borough.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa., the following persons were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program:
Autumn L. Learn, 19, 97 Lincoln St., Sayre, Pa., charged with Receiving Stolen Property in June 2008, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Learn must perform community service and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Learn was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,142.73. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Learn for the offense following investigation of a reported theft that occurred in Wysox Township.
Carrie S. Mosier, 46, RR 3, Box 273, Wyalusing, Pa., charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in July 2008, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Mosier must perform community service and attend a Victim Impact Panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mosier for the offense following investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Wyalusing Township.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa., the following persons were sentenced:
Jason Jefferson, 19, Milan, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from nine months to 18 months, and a fine of $300, for Statutory Sexual Assault, a felony of the second degree. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jefferson for the offense in December. Jefferson may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Joseph W. Maynard, 50, 302 Bridge St., Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to one year, and a fine of $500, for Indecent Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Maynard for the offense in April. Maynard may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Timothy J. Ortiz, 21, RR 2, Box 3D, Wysox, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of nine months, and a fine of $300, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bradford County Chief Detective Gregory Hostettler arrested Ortiz for the offense in June. While on probation, Ortiz will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Michael A. Lane, 18, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 18 months for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Jeffrey Vilello of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lane for the offense in May 2008. While on probation, Lane will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Elljay Watkins, 24, Charleroi, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State correctional facility of from six months to two years for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Watkins was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $126. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Watkins for the offense in November 2008. Watkins may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
Lisa Brassfield, 25, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of two years for Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, felony of the second degree. Sgt. John Strozyk of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brassfield for the offense in August. While on probation, Brassfield will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa., the following person was sentenced:
Christopher M. Brown, 18, 22 William St., Apartment 2, Towanda, Pa., was re-sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of from 45 days to 18 months, and a fine of $300, for Criminal Trespass, a felony of the second degree. Brown was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $390. Officer David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in February 2007. Brown may be paroled after serving the minimum sentence and, if paroled, he will be under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department. Brown was originally sentenced to a term of probation for the office but his probationary status was revoked due to violation of conditions of probation.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:
Kelly Gordon, 27, 185 Center St., Troy, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to 18 months, and a total fine of $2,500, for two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and a misdemeanor of the first degree, respectively. Gordon will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 30 months. Sgt. Jarvis Burlingame of the Troy Borough Police Department and Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gordon for the offenses in March 2007 and May 2008, respectively. Gordon may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Ronald L. Croft, 28, 980 Town and County Estates, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of one year, and a fine of $150, for Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Michael Northup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Croft for the offense in June. While on probation, Croft will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
David L. Gilbert, 24, P.O. Box 76, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to a term of probation for a term of 18 months, and a fine of $200, for Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Gilbert for the offense in June. While on probation, Gilbert will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
David L. Schanbacher, 46, 17 Troy St., Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months, and a fine of $1,000, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Schanbacher will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Robert C. Edgerton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Schanbacher for the offense in June. Schanbacher may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Joseph Buttito, 46, Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 24 months to 59 months, and a total fine of $3,000, for Illegal Possession of Firearms, a felony of the second degree, and Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Jaimie Lopez of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Buttito for the offenses in Wilmot Township. Buttito may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Buttito was charged with shooting a handgun to frighten a tow truck driver. Because of his prior convictions, it was a felony for Buttito to be in possession of a firearm. Buttito was convicted at a jury trial on Sept. 7.
Joseph W. Jennings, 22, 165 Sugar Run Road, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 24 months, probation for a term of 36 months, and a total fine of $1,000, for five counts of Indecent Assault, all graded as misdemeanors of the first degree, and one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Peter Shiposh of the Pennsylvania State Police and Officer Daniel J. Thomas of the Athens Township Police arrested Jennings for the offenses in May and April, respectively. Jennings may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole will also supervise Jennings’ probation.
Patricia Wilkinson, 48, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 48 hours to six months, and a fine of $500, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Wilkinson will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Andrew Burian of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wilkinson for the offense in June. Wilkinson may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Keegan Brown, 24, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 16 months to four years, and a total fine of $2,000, for Burglary, a felony of the second degree, and two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), graded as felonies. Brown will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and he was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $23,962.93. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in June. Brown may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
Kevin VanZile, 18, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a total fine of $300, for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and False Identification to Law Enforcement Authorities, a misdemeanor of the third degree. VanZile was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $75. Officer Floyd McDonald of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested VanZile for the offense in July. While on probation, VanZile will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Robert Vicioso, 35, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Vicioso will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vicioso for the offense in April. Vicioso may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Terry Mosier, 53, New Albany, Pa., charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in July, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Mosier must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mosier for the offense following investigation of a traffic stop that occurred in Overton Township.
Nicholas C. Cirulli, 19, 377 West Clinton St., Apartment 41, Elmira, N.Y., charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking in August, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of eight months. While in the ARD Program, Cirulli must perform community service and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Cirulli for the offense following investigation of a reported theft that occurred in Athens Township.

Melinda Brown, 19, of Little Meadows, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Brown will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Brown faces a maximum sentence of up to five years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brown for the offense in June 2008 following investigation of a Burglary that occurred in Warren Township.
Jason Crawford, 21, of Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Burglary, a felony of the second degree, and Arson, a felony of the first degree. Crawford will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Crawford faces a maximum sentence of up to 30 years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Robert McKee of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Crawford for the offense in August, following investigation of a fire that occurred in Canton Township.
Todd E. Vandyke, 21, 516 N Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Vandyke will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing Vandyke faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Derek A. Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Vandyke for the offense in March, following investigation of a traffic incident that occurred in Athens Borough.
Shawn D. Shoop, 22, 516 Stevenson St., Apartment 3, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Shoop will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Shoop faces a maximum sentence of up to two years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Sgt. Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Shoop for the offense in June following investigation of a reported assault that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Robert Walter, 30, Rushville, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to Leaving the Scene of an Accident, a misdemeanor of the third degree; False Report to a Law Enforcement Officer, a summary offense; Reckless Driving, a summary offense; Failure to Drive at a Safe Speed, a summary offense; and Careless Driving, a summary offense. Walter was sentenced to pay a total fine of $2,950, and court costs. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Walter for the offenses in July, following investigation of a motor-vehicle crash that occurred in Tuscarora Township.
Joshua Vanderpool, 22, Barton, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to nine days in the Bradford County Correctional Facility. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Vanderpool for the offense in June following investigation of a drug possession incident that occurred in Athens Borough.
Michelle Nthuthu, 31, Canton, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to two counts of Bad Checks, graded as summary offenses, for a sentence of restitution in the amount of $333.91, and court costs. Bradford County Chief Detective Greg Hostettler arrested Nthuthu for the offenses in June 2007 following investigation of the reported passing of bad checks in Canton Borough and Canton Township.

Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Place for the offense in February following investigation of a possession offense that occurred in Wysox Township.
Robert Stevens, 36, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Stevens will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Stevens faces a maximum sentence of up to six months, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre borough Police Department arrested Stevens for the offense in May, following investigation of a traffic offense that occured in Sayre Borough.
Brian Mullen, 33, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Accident Resulting in Personal Injury, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Mullen will be sentenced on Dec. 15, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Mullen faces a maximum sentence of up to five years, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mullen for the offense in April, following investigation of an auto crash that occurred in Sheshequin Township.
Michael Paul Lain, 28, New Albany, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Theft by Unlawful Taking, a felony of the third degree. Lain will be sentenced in December, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Lain faces a maximum sentence of up to seven years, plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lain for the offense in July, following investigation of a theft that occured in Overton Township.
Barry Mann, 33, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Mann will be sentenced on Dec. 22, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Paul Cady of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Mann for the offense in May, following investigation of a traffic offense that occurred in Troy Borough.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa., the following persons were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program:
Autumn L. Learn, 19, 97 Lincoln St., Sayre, Pa., charged with Receiving Stolen Property in June 2008, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Learn must perform community service and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Learn was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,142.73. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Learn for the offense following investigation of a reported theft that occurred in Wysox Township.
Carrie S. Mosier, 46, RR 3, Box 273, Wyalusing, Pa., charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in July 2008, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Mosier must perform community service and attend a Victim Impact Panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mosier for the offense following investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Wyalusing Township.

Jason Jefferson, 19, Milan, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from nine months to 18 months, and a fine of $300, for Statutory Sexual Assault, a felony of the second degree. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jefferson for the offense in December. Jefferson may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Joseph W. Maynard, 50, 302 Bridge St., Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to one year, and a fine of $500, for Indecent Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Maynard for the offense in April. Maynard may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Timothy J. Ortiz, 21, RR 2, Box 3D, Wysox, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of nine months, and a fine of $300, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bradford County Chief Detective Gregory Hostettler arrested Ortiz for the offense in June. While on probation, Ortiz will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Michael A. Lane, 18, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 18 months for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Jeffrey Vilello of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lane for the offense in May 2008. While on probation, Lane will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Elljay Watkins, 24, Charleroi, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State correctional facility of from six months to two years for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Watkins was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $126. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Watkins for the offense in November 2008. Watkins may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
Lisa Brassfield, 25, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of two years for Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, felony of the second degree. Sgt. John Strozyk of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brassfield for the offense in August. While on probation, Brassfield will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Christopher M. Brown, 18, 22 William St., Apartment 2, Towanda, Pa., was re-sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of from 45 days to 18 months, and a fine of $300, for Criminal Trespass, a felony of the second degree. Brown was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $390. Officer David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in February 2007. Brown may be paroled after serving the minimum sentence and, if paroled, he will be under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department. Brown was originally sentenced to a term of probation for the office but his probationary status was revoked due to violation of conditions of probation.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:
Kelly Gordon, 27, 185 Center St., Troy, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to 18 months, and a total fine of $2,500, for two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and a misdemeanor of the first degree, respectively. Gordon will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 30 months. Sgt. Jarvis Burlingame of the Troy Borough Police Department and Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gordon for the offenses in March 2007 and May 2008, respectively. Gordon may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Ronald L. Croft, 28, 980 Town and County Estates, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of one year, and a fine of $150, for Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Michael Northup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Croft for the offense in June. While on probation, Croft will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
David L. Gilbert, 24, P.O. Box 76, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to a term of probation for a term of 18 months, and a fine of $200, for Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Gilbert for the offense in June. While on probation, Gilbert will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
David L. Schanbacher, 46, 17 Troy St., Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months, and a fine of $1,000, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Schanbacher will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Robert C. Edgerton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Schanbacher for the offense in June. Schanbacher may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Joseph Buttito, 46, Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 24 months to 59 months, and a total fine of $3,000, for Illegal Possession of Firearms, a felony of the second degree, and Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Jaimie Lopez of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Buttito for the offenses in Wilmot Township. Buttito may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Buttito was charged with shooting a handgun to frighten a tow truck driver. Because of his prior convictions, it was a felony for Buttito to be in possession of a firearm. Buttito was convicted at a jury trial on Sept. 7.
Joseph W. Jennings, 22, 165 Sugar Run Road, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 24 months, probation for a term of 36 months, and a total fine of $1,000, for five counts of Indecent Assault, all graded as misdemeanors of the first degree, and one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Peter Shiposh of the Pennsylvania State Police and Officer Daniel J. Thomas of the Athens Township Police arrested Jennings for the offenses in May and April, respectively. Jennings may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole will also supervise Jennings’ probation.
Patricia Wilkinson, 48, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 48 hours to six months, and a fine of $500, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Wilkinson will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Andrew Burian of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wilkinson for the offense in June. Wilkinson may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Keegan Brown, 24, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 16 months to four years, and a total fine of $2,000, for Burglary, a felony of the second degree, and two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), graded as felonies. Brown will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and he was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $23,962.93. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in June. Brown may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
Kevin VanZile, 18, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a total fine of $300, for Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and False Identification to Law Enforcement Authorities, a misdemeanor of the third degree. VanZile was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $75. Officer Floyd McDonald of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested VanZile for the offense in July. While on probation, VanZile will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
Robert Vicioso, 35, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Vicioso will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vicioso for the offense in April. Robert Walter, 30, Rushville, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to Leaving the Scene of an Accident, a misdemeanor of the third degree; False Report to a Law Enforcement Officer, a summary offense; Reckless Driving, a summary offense; Failure to Drive at a Safe Speed, a summary offense; and Careless Driving, a summary offense. Walter was sentenced to pay a total fine of $2,950, and court costs. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Walter for the offenses in July, following investigation of a motor-vehicle crash that occurred in Tuscarora Township.
Joshua Vanderpool, 22, Barton, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to nine days in the Bradford County Correctional Facility. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Vanderpool for the offense in June following investigation of a drug possession incident that occurred in Athens Borough.
Michelle Nthuthu, 31, Canton, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to two counts of Bad Checks, graded as summary offenses, for a sentence of restitution in the amount of $333.91, and court costs. Bradford County Chief Detective Greg Hostettler arrested Nthuthu for the offenses in June 2007 following investigation of the reported passing of bad checks in Canton Borough and Canton Township.
