WARREN CENTER — It was a “Christmas in the Country” in Warren Center Saturday.
The Warren Center Garden Club sponsored the event held at the community building, and it drew 15 vendors selling various wares, Michelle Haight, garden club treasurer, said. A couple hundred people visited.
The proceeds benefit the garden club and its projects throughout town each year.
In the past, a major project of the garden club was getting some welcome signs for Warren Center for the roads coming into town.
“That was our major project a couple years ago and now we try to maintain the gardens,” she said.
She said the show went “very well.” And although it was slower than normal, the traffic was steady, she added.
“The kitchen was very busy selling cinnamon rolls and chili,” she said.
In addition, the event featured a Chinese auction, and one of the big items was a bench made by Keith Darling of Warren Center.
