Police report public drunkenness
State police at North Towanda report Jeremy Wade, 34, of Towanda was observed severely under the influence of alcohol at 5:20 a.m. Jan. 1 while walking south on Route 187 in Rome Borough.
Woman injured in accident
Chavonne L. Potts, 23, of Wyalusing suffered a minor injury when the car she was driving hit an embankment along Route 6, according to state police at North Towanda.
Police say Potts was driving a 1999 Ford Escort east on Route 6, 1,050 feet south of Route 492 in Wyalusing, at 2:20 a.m. Jan. 1, when she lost control of the car and went off the eastbound berm and hit the embankment. The car stopped, facing east on the embankment.
Police filed a charge against Potts in relation to the accident
Car catches on fire
A car caught on fire while being driven Dec. 31 in Terry Township.
State police at North Towanda report an unnamed 17-year-old was driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am at 10:21 a.m. on Gooseneck Road when a fire started in the engine compartment. The driver was not hurt, but the car had disabling damage.
Truck hits tree
A Towanda driver suffered a minor injury when he hit a tree Jan. 2 along Route 1035.
State police at North Towanda report Michael S. Martin, 26, was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango south at 11:05 a.m. when he lost control and hit the tree.
Wysox Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
Minor injury reported in accident
A Towanda woman suffered a minor injury when the vehicle she was driving hit a tree Dec. 31 along Route 187 in Windham Township.
Robin L. Hickox, 43, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer north at 8:01 a.m. when she lost control on the snow-covered road, state police at North Towanda report. The Blazer left the road and hit the tree.
Disorderly conduct reported
State police report Leslie Allen Parker JR., 33, of Towanda recently threatened to shoot two boys, one 11 and the other 12, with a BB gun.
The incident reportedly happened between 10:30 and 10:35 a.m. Dec. 29 at the Hornbrook T railer Park, Sheshequin Township.
Mailboxes damaged
State police report someone used a blunt object to vandalize mailboxes owned by Robert Reed, 61, of Rome and another Rome resident.
The incident reportedly happened at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 2 along Peck Hill Road, about three-quarters of a mile west of Route 187, in Windham Township.
Two-vehicle accident in Waverly
A two-car motor vehicle accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. Jan. 3, on Broad Street, near the Dollar General Store in Waverly, N.Y., according to the Waverly Police Department.
Clark Garris, 31, of Waverly was driving east on Broad Street when he allegedly crossed into the west-bound lane, striking a vehicle driven by Allison Martino, 22, of Kirkwood, N.Y., police stated.
Garris was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and failing to keep right, according to police.
Police stated that the two vehicles suffered major damage, and that the four people in the accident were taken to Robert Packer Hospital by Greater Valley EMS.
Also assisting at the scene was the Waverly-Barton Fire Department, police stated.
Waverly man allegedly harasses 13-year-old
Steven Keturi, 38, of Waverly, N.Y., was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and harassment after he allegedly grabbed and slapped a 13-year-old boy on Dec. 26 at a Waverly residence, according to the Waverly Police Department.
Man allegedly punches another
Grover Schoenfeld, 62, was cited for harassment after he allegedly punched a male on Jan. 2 at a Waverly residence, according to the Waverly Police Department.
Waverly man charged with harassment
Steven Pritchard, 24, of Waverly, N.Y., was arrested for harassment after he allegedly harassed an ex-girlfriend at her work place and allegedly sent her harassing text messages on Jan. 1, according to the Waverly Police Department.
Barton man arrested on warrant
Chad Grier, 23, of Barton, N.Y., was arrested on an arrest warrant after a traffic stop on Jan. 1 in Waverly, N.Y., according to the Waverly Police Department. He was allegedly wanted by New York State Police for a charge of criminal possession of stolen property, police stated.
Grier was also allegedly in possession of four oxycontin pills at the traffic stop, and was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.
Waverly man charged with endangering the welfare of a child
Donald Conklin, 20, of Waverly, N.Y., was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly threw a phone near a 3-month-old child and allegedly displayed a shotgun while making threats to harm himself in front of the child on Christmas Day, according to the Waverly Police Department.
He was sent to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
