LeRaysville woman charged with retail theft

Athens Township Police have charged Alicia Marie Isbell, 34, of LeRaysville with a third degree felony count of retail theft following an incident that occurred at 4 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2016 at Walmart on Elmira Street in Athens Township.

Police state that Isbell took five separate UPC codes from lesser valued items and placed them over the UPC codes on higher valued items that she scanned at the self checkout. The fraudulent UPC codes were removed from items valued at $0.88 within the store’s craft department. A total of $4.40 was paid for the items valued at $39.10. Isbell then left the store. Police contacted her on Nov. 5 via phone where she admitted that she did not pay the proper amount for the items at Walmart. A criminal history check was completed on Isbell and it showed that she had two prior convictions for retail theft, grading the new charge as a third degree felony.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and released on a non monetary bail. She is slated to appear before Shaw on Jan. 17 for her preliminary hearing, court documents show.

Theft reported in Troy Borough

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a theft and fraud that occurred between Feb. 13 and March 19 of 2015.

Police state that $20,000 was stolen from a resident of Troy Borough during a fraudulent business transaction. The alleged suspects are known to the victim. The investigation into this complaint is continuing.

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a theft and fraud that occurred on June 1, 2016.

Theft reported in North Towanda Township

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a theft that occurred between Dec. 30, 2016 and Jan. 1 at the Colonial Towers in North Towanda Township.

Police state that the victim reported that she had approximately $400 in cash taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.

Theft reported

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a theft that occurred between Nov. 24 and Dec. 26, 2016 on Colonial Drive in North Towanda Township.

Police state an unknown actor or actors removed 18 Oxycodone pills from the victim’s residence. The actor or actors fled the scene in an unknown direction. The incident is currently under investigation.

Two vehicle accident reported in Canton Township

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a two vehicle accident that occurred at 10 a.m. on Jan. 2 on state Route 15 in Canton Township.

Police state Kenneth Robertson, 67, of Canton was pulling out of the Pump and Pantry gas station onto state Route 14. As Robertson was pulling out of the parking lot, he was struck by Lewis D. Howell, 75, of Roaring Branch who was traveling north. Robertson and Howell’s passenger sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of the accident. Howell was not injured. Robertson is being charged with entering or crossing roadway and Howell is being charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

ID Theft reported in Wilmot Township

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report an identity theft that occurred between Sept. 23, 2016 and Jan. 9 at a residence on Back Road in Wilmot Township.

Police state that the victim’s identity was used to open various credit cards in his name. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda at (570) 265-2186.

One vehicle accident reported in Troy Township

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a one vehicle accident that occurred at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 30 on Roosevelt Highway in Troy Township.

Police state Kevin E. Perry, 57, of Columbia Cross Roads was traveling east when his vehicle left the roadway. Perry then made impact with a telephone pole and came to a final rest in a driveway nearby. All occupants were brought to the Troy Hospital for treatment. Perry and a juvenile passenger were not injured. Perry’s second passenger sustained suspected minor injuries. Perry is being charged with driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

Theft from motor vehicle reported in Towanda

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda report a theft from motor vehicle that occurred between Dec. 27, 2016 and Jan. 3 on Main Street in Towanda.

Police state that an actor entered the victim’s vehicle and removed the victim’s Pennsylvania driver’s license and debit card.
