CANTON — Students and business representatives from the Canton community got to talk shop Thursday afternoon during the second career luncheon held at Canton Area Elementary School.

Fourth graders at the school spoke with 12 professionals from the community about careers in transportation, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, finance and education and training.

Among those present were school board members Jared Wilcox, Bill Holland and Ryan Allen, as well as district superintendent Eric Briggs, sharing their insights into their respective fields.

Elementary school counselor Teresa Allen said they were able to add more career clusters since their first Career Cafe event.

“They seem excited about it,” she said about the luncheon.

She said the next career luncheon would take place in four to six weeks, depending on how schedules work for another group of professionals from more career clusters.
