Bradford County court news, March 19, 2017

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Ryan Casselbury, 19, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for one month plus 90 days to six months, fines of $800.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree and harassment, a summary offense. Trooper Jacob Burgess of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Casselbury following investigation of an incident that occurred in Leroy Township.

Christopher Harmatuk, 35, Binghamton, N.Y., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, for two months to six months, fines of $500.00, plus court costs. Harmatuk was placed in the County Intermediate Program but failed to comply with the program. The CIP was revoked and Harmatuk pleaded guilty for the offense of Retail Theft, misdemeanor of the first degree. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Harmatuk for the offense occurring on Nov. 30, 2016.

Sharrell Brock, 26, Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to six months, fines of $1,000.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Taylor Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brock following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wells Township in November 2016.

Anne Ward, 58, of Troy, Pa., was re-sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 60 days (flat), followed by Treatment Court for 24 months, fines of $1,500.00, plus court costs. Ward was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment but failed to comply with the conditions, CIP was revoked and the case was set for resentencing; for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Corporal David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Ward following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township in December 2015.

Sarah Dean, 29, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for three months to six months, followed by Probation Supervision for a term of 18 months, fines of $150.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Retail Theft, a felony of the third degree. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Dean for the offense occurring in July 2016.

Justin Schlosser, 24, of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months fines of $300.00, for the offense of Indirect Criminal Contempt. Officer George Nichols of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Schlosser for the offense occurring on Dec. 3, 2017.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons recently entered pleas of guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Edwin Keagle, 21, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, also a misdemeanor of the first degree. Keagle will be sentenced on May 4, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Keagle for the offenses in November 2016 and September 2016.

Christopher Gates, 31, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Fleeing and Eluding, a felony of the third degree, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the third degree and Recklessly Endangering, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Gates will be sentenced on March 27, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Gates for the offenses on Oct. 29, 2016.

Connie Neely, 48, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Neely will be sentenced on May 4, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Neely for the offense in October 2016.

Joshua Mitchell, 29, Lafayette, Ind., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Accident Involving Damage to Attending Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Mitchell will be sentenced on May 4, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Mitchell for the offense for the offense in December 2016.

Michael Brotzman, 39, New Milford, Pa., was sentence to Probation Supervision for a term of nine months, fines of $100.00, restitution of $950.31, plus court costs, for the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Brandon Allis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brotzman following investigation of an incident that occurred in LeRaysville Borough.

Dawn Hibbert, 46, Towanda, PA, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $200.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, misdemeanors. Officer George Nichols of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hibbert for the offense occurring on July 9, 2016.

Thomas Audinwood, 24, Wysox, Pa., was sentenced to Incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for six months to 24 months, followed by Probation Supervision for a term of 24 months, fines of $250.00, restitution of $1,817.84, plus $214.94, plus court costs, for the offenses of two counts of Burglary, a felony of the second degree, Tampering with Evidence, a misdemeanor of the second degree, Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree, Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Audinwood following investigation of incidents that occurred in Wysox Township in July 2016.

Kevin Stedge, 20, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for six months to 18 months, followed by Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $400.00, restitution of $390.00, plus court costs. Stedge was resentenced, he had been sentenced to probation but failed to comply with the conditions. Probation was revoked and the case was sent for resentencing; for the offenses of Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Robert Kirby and Trooper Terence Foley both of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Stedge following investigation of incidents that occurred in Smithfield Township.

Joshua Hadlock, 32, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for four months to 12 months, fines of $100.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Obstruction of Administration of Law or other Governmental Function, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hadlock following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township in June 2016.

Jonathan Boyer, 23, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 119 days to 23 months, 29 days, fines of $450.00, plus court costs, restitution of $5,297.02, for the offenses of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, misdemeanors of the first degree. Officer John Hennessy and Officer Ryan Edsell both of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Boyer for the offenses occurring in August 2016, July 2013 and October 2016.

David Brown, 27, Rushville, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for five days to six months, fines of $300.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper George Jones of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brown following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Township in May 2016.

Sabastian Shults, 19, Ulster, Pa., was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours, plus 45 days to six months, followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 22 ½ months. County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision. It may include home confinement, electronic monitor and substance abuse treatment. Violation can result in more incarceration; followed by Probation Supervision for a term of 36 months, for the offenses of two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, one a misdemeanor, and the other a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper George Jones and Trooper Jacob Burgess both of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Shults following investigation of incidents that occurred in Rome Township in June and July 2016.

Kharissa Hughes, 29, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Hughes will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hughes following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township in October 2015.

Clinton Lantz, 24, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Aggravated Assault, a felony of the second degree. Lantz will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Deputy James Hart of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Department arrested Lantz for the offense in November 2016.

Carl Lawrence, 50, Sugar Run, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Lawrence will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Christopher Higdon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lawrence following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wilmot Township in April 2016.

Alberto Cordova, 25, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Cordova will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Cordova for the offense in August 2016.

Scott Kingston, 38, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Kingston will be sentenced on a later date, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kingston following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township. Trooper Nicholas Stoud of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Cordova following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township in November 2015.

Jay Cummings, 41, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Cummings will be sentenced May 1, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Justin Landsiedel of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Cummings following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Borough on Oct. 22, 2016.

Travis Geisinger, 27, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Geisinger will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas Zebrowski of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Geisinger for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Michael Fassett, 19, Sugar Run, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Fassett will be sentenced on May 18, 2017, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Kirby of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fassett, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wilmot Township on Sept. 9, 2016.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following person(s) was recently accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Bradley Cohick, 41, Granville Summit, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Cohick will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Cohick must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Trooper Nicholas Stoud of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Cohick for an offense on Nov. 16, 2016, in West Burlington Township.

Jacqueline Liberati, 53, Canton, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Liberati will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Liberati must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Taylor Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Liberati for the offense on Nov. 6, 2016, in Canton Township.

Matthew Kautz, 25, Chemung, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Kautz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Kautz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Nov. 12, 2016 for the offense in Sayre Borough.
