Mr. and Mrs. Charley Greening of Burlington entertained at a Sunday night birthday dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Warren and children. The occasion was the birthday of Mr. Greening and Mr. Warren.

50 years ago — 1967

Mrs. Nick Longo, 54, of Sayre was treated at the Packer Hospital dispensary after she caught her heel while going down the steps of Epiphany Church and fell, suffering abrasions of both legs.

Judith Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnston of Towanda, recently was tapped for membership in The Alpha Chapter of Cwens, national honorary society for sophomore women, at The University of Pittsburgh.

Construction Mechanic Third Class Larry I. Green, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Green of Sayre, arrived recently at Camp Shields, Chu Lai, Vietnam, with Mobile Construction Battalion 40.

A caller said Cherrie Repsher created a 5-foot snow rabbit Thursday and colored the snow from which it’s made.

The team of BBC captured the Towanda Church League championship with an 88-74 win over Ss. Peter and Paul. Brian Salsman led the winners with 33 points.

The Jell-O wrestling event planned in Troy has been postponed due to snow and has been rescheduled for Monday. It is sponsored by the Troy Student-Faculty Senate.
