Tioga edges OM in Section IV playoffs

After getting down 4-2, the Tioga girls rallied to score four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to earn their 6-4 win over OM in Class C, Section IV playoffs on Thursday.

For Tioga, Marissa Howe, Mariah Culver and Kelsey Vosburgh each had one hit, Madalyn Dydynski and Kurstan Martin each finished with one run, a triple and an RBI, Megan Godfrey added two hits and two RBI and Sarah Hollenbeck and Sarah Strong each had two runs and two hits.

Culver started the game for Tioga and pitched three innings of perfect softball, albeit one walk, striking out nine and allowing no hits. Dydynski pitched next; in one and two thirds innings of work she allowed no runs on four hits and struck out four. Morgan Babcock pitched the final two and one third innings, allowing four earned runs on two hits and three walks and striking out five.

Tioga advances to take on Edison at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
