The Tioga field hockey team defeated Owego, 3-1, on Tuesday.

Olivia Ayres scored twice for Tioga and Lauren Allen scored once.

Scoring for Owego was Anna Llewellyn with assist from Megan Holloway.

“Both teams came out and played a high-intensity game,” Jackie Taylor said. “Owego kept the pressure on for sure. We’ve been working a lot on our passing and transitioning to offense, and it seemed like some things ‘clicked’ tonight for us. Our midfielders did a great job stepping up tonight to communicate with the team to make those transitions smoother. We have a tough game against Marathon ahead of us tomorrow, but I’m hoping to see the girls build upon their successes together and to give Marathon a challenge.”
