Wysox Haunted House and 6th Annual Halloween for Hunger

Wysox Haunted House and 6th Annual Halloween for Hunger

Planning for this year’s Wysox Haunted House and the 6th Annual Halloween for Hunger is well underway. Entirely volunteer run, the Wysox Haunted House is partnering with Child Hunger Outreach Partners, Inc. this year, with CHOP and Wysox Fire Company receiving a portion of this year’s funds. Something new this year for Halloween for Hunger is a free basket raffle being held, with tickets being given in exchange for donations of non-perishable food items, toilet paper, bar soap and pet supplies. Back by popularity, the haunted house will once again offer two “no scare” weekends the first two weekends in October, during which kids can trick or treat their way through the rooms, and strobe lighting and other effects will be minimized. Full scare events will start Oct. 16 and run through Oct. 31 with doors opening at 7 p.m. every event night in October for both events. Food and craft vendors will be there every night, and there will be live radio broadcasts from Wiggle 100/The Bridge Oct. 3 and 17 with prizes and more. Hand washing stations, hand sanitizer, and extra cleaning precautions will be in place. New this year is the option to purchase tickets in advance, which help manage attendance in accordance with current state requirements. Ticket and event information can be found at www.BOOinc.org or on the Wysox Haunted House Facebook page. Individuals interested in volunteering or being a vendor should call or text (570) 485-4472 or (570) 699-9980.
