Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett has updated the status of the following criminal cases:

SENTENCES

Miner Farr, 47, Sayre, was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 17 days to one year, fines of $50.00, for the offenses of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Public Drunkenness, a summary offense. Sargent Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Farr for the offenses occurring on Aug. 4, 2018.

Katelyn Roach, 26, Ulster, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months, plus court costs, for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of a third degree. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Roach for the offense occurring on March 13, 2019.

Russell Hemenway, 38, Elmira, New York, was sentenced to incarceration in a Bradford County Correctional Facility for 103 days to one year, fines of $250.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hemenway for the offense occurring on Jan. 9, 2019.

William Adams Jr, 32, Laceyville, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for two years to five years, consecutive to his other sentences, fines of $500.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of, two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, felonies of the third degree. Trooper Patrick Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Adams following investigation of the incidents that occurred in Wilmot Township on Aug. 1, 2018.

Jesse Blake, 23, Waverly, New York, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 60 days to 30 months, fines of $750.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Defiant Trespass, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Sergeant James Shaw and Officer Richard Horton both of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Blake following investigation of incidents that occurred in Athens Township on October 18, 2018 and Nov. 13, 2018.

Clinton Lantz, 26, Sayre, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 18 months to five years, fines of $1000.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Aggregated Assault, a felony. Lantz had been sentenced to probation but failed to comply with conditions. Probation was revoked and the case was set for resentencing. Deputy James Hart of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Department arrested Lantz for the offense occurring on Nov. 9, 2016.

Tiffany Westbrook, 32, Columbia Cross Roads, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $100.00, for the offense Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Tyler Young of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Westbrook for the offense occurring on Oct. 9, 2018.

Hilary Vanderpool, 33, Towanda, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months; charges are concurrent to each other, fines of $200.00; for the offenses of two counts of Simple Assault, misdemeanors of the second degree. Trooper Patrick Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on Oct. 7, 2109.

Thomas Adams, 64, Sayre, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for nine months to 24 months, fines of $500.00, for the offense of Obstructing Admin of Law or other Government Function, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Adams following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township on Oct. 2, 2018.

Sean Toomey, 57, Columbia Cross Roads, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of six months, fines and costs for the offense Hindering Apprehension, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Deputy Donald Stringham of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Toomey for the offense occurring on Oct. 17, 2018 in Columbia Township.

Andrew Kraft II, 37, Sayre, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of three years, fines of $300.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Terroristic Threats, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Kraft for the offense occurring on Aug. 17, 2018.

Justin Arnold, 37, Wyalusing, was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for seven days to six months, fines of $500.00, plus court costs, he will also lose his driver’s license for 12 months, and an additional license suspension of 12 months will be imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, (2/10), a misdemeanor. Trooper John Kasheta of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Arnold following investigation of an incident that occurred in Asylum Township on June 7, 2018.

Arica Brown, 28, Towanda, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $250.00, plus court costs, for the offense of Endangering the Welfare of Children, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Ryan Edsell pf the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Brown for the offense occurring on Oct. 23, 2018.

Kenneth Rider, 60, of Monroeton, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for four years to 10 years, plus court costs, for the offense of Person not to Possess a Firearm, a felony of the second degree. These sentences are consecutive to his other sentences. Trooper Shan Flynn of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Rider following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Borough on Oct. 18, 2018.

Angelique Fretz, 37, of Monroeton, was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $500.00, restitution of $639.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Trooper Shaun Flynn of the Pennsylvania State Police in Fawn Ridge arrested Fretz following investigation of incidents that occurred in Monroe Township on Oct. 14, 2018.

David Parker Jr, 25, of Towanda, was sentenced to incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for one year to five years, following Probation Supervision for a term of 24 months, fines of $800.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Aggravated Assault, a felony of the second degree, Escape, a misdemeanor of the second degree, Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and two counts of Indirect Criminal Contempt. Trooper Nate Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Parker following investigation of incidents that occurred in Towanda Borough on Oct. 31, 2018.

GUILTY PLEAS

William C. Sutton III, 36, Waverly, New York, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver, a felony offense. Sutton will be sentenced on June 13, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Christopher Warren of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Sutton for the offense on Jan. 10, 2019.

Michelle Russo, 35, Elmira, New York, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Russo will be sentenced on June 13, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Russo for the offense on Jan. 9, 2019.

Joseph Laughlin, 31, Sayre, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Laughlin will be sentenced on May 30, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nate Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Laughlin for the offense on Jan. 29, 2019.

William Parsons, 47, Wyalusing, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Parsons will be sentenced on a date to be determined, following preparation of a presentenced report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Gregory Pimm of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Parsons following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township on July 3, 2018.

ARD

Taylor Meredith-Williams, 29, Rome, charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol(Drug Related), and was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Meredith-Williams will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Meredith-Williams must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Patrick Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Meredith-Williams for an offense on Dec. 28, 2018 in Ulster Township.

Stephanie Evans, 36, Athens, charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Evans will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Evans must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Gregory Pimm of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Evans for an offense on Sept. 29, 2018 in Athens Township.

NOLO CONTENDERE

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following entered a plea of “no contest”. The plea has the same effect as a guilty plea. It is entered when a defendant cannot recall the crime charged:

Corey Rice, 33, Tioga, entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, one a misdemeanor of the first degree and the other count a misdemeanor of the second degree. Rice will be sentenced on June 13, 2019, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Officer Ralph Dooley of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Rice for the offenses on Oct. 8, 2018.
