Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported the following criminal case resolutions in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pennsylvania:

SENTENCED

Charles Miller, 24, of Hop Bottom was sentenced to incarceration in the Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for a total sentence of 25 months to 60 months, with fines of $2,500.00 plus court costs, and restitution of $1,704.00 for the offense of five counts of forgery, a felony of the third degree. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Miller following investigation of incidents that occurred in Bradford County in November and December of 2017.

Thomas J. Gann, 22, of Rome was resentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 32 days to 23 months and 28 days, with fines of $200.00 for the offense of two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Gann had been sentenced to probation but failed to comply with the conditions. Probation was revoked and the case was set for resentencing. Trooper Robert Borkowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gann in April of 2018.

Dale Talada, 57, of Litchfield was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 28 days to six months, with fines of $1,500.00 plus court costs for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (1/10), a misdemeanor. Additionally, a license suspension of 12 months will be imposed for Talada’s refusal to submit to testing when arrested. Trooper Michael Tracy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Talada following investigation of an incident that occurred in Litchfield Township on July 19, 2018.

Bobi Jo Noto, 37, of Towanda was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to 24 months, followed by probation supervision for a term of 12 months and fines of $300.00 plus court costs. Noto had been sentenced to probation but failed to comply with the conditions. Probation was revoked and the case was set for resentencing for the offenses of False ID of Law Enforcement, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Deputy Meghan Hurley of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Department and Trooper Robert Borkowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Noto for the offenses following investigation of incidents that occurred on May 23, 2018 in Towanda Borough and April 1, 2018 in North Towanda Township.

Corissa Reed, 21, of Sayre was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to five months, followed by probation supervision for a term of 24 months, fines of $150.00, and restitution of $1,973.23 plus court costs. Reed had been sentenced to probation but failed to comply with the conditions. Probation was revoked and the case was set for resentencing. Reed’s offenses were Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree, and Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Reed for the offense occurring on Nov. 21, 2015 and Oct. 5, 2015.

Michelle Stedge, 39, of Elmira, New York, was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to 12 months, followed by probation supervision for a term of 24 months, plus court costs for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Stedge for the offense occurring on Oct. 17, 2017.

Kelly Brown, 39, of New Albany was sentenced to probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $250.00, and restitution of $55.00 plus court costs for the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Michael Mogish of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brown following investigation of an incident that occurred in Overton Township on April 19, 2018.

James Frantz, 28, of Sayre was resentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional facility for four months to 12 months, probation supervision for a term of 24 months, and fines of $500.00 plus court costs. Frantz was placed in the County Intermediate Punishment Program but failed to comply with the program. C.I.P. was revoked for the offense of Criminal Use of a Communication Device, a felony of the third degree. Trooper Mike Adams (formally) of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Frantz following investigation of an incident that occurred in South Waverly Borough on Aug. 22, 2016.

Bonnie McCartney, 42, of Wellsburg, New York, was sentenced to probation supervision for a term of six months and fines of $300.00 plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (1/10), a misdemeanor. Officer Thomas Zebrowski of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested McCartney for the offense occurring on Jan. 5, 2019.

David Coyle, 26, of Waverly, New York was sentenced to incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 days to six months and fines of $1,500.00 plus court costs for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (1/10), a misdemeanor. Additionally, Coyle will lose his driver’s license for 12 months. Sergeant Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Coyle for the offense occurring on Oct. 25, 2018.

GUILTY PLEAS

Shyann Hills, 22, of Rome entered a plea of guilty to the offense of two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a felony of the third degree. Hills will be sentenced on July 29, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Christopher Higdon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hills for the offense in Rome Borough on July 2018.

Tyler Keir, 24, Waverly, New York, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Keir will be sentenced on July 25, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Tracy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Keir following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough on Oct. 14, 2018.

Dakota Hinkley, 25, Towanda, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Hinkley will be sentenced on July 1, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Patrick Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hinkley following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township on Dec. 23, 2018.

Robert Mackiewicz, 39, Wyalusing, entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree. Mackiewicz will be sentenced on July 25, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Justin Walton and Trooper Michael Tracy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mackiewicz following investigation of incidents that occurred in Stevens Township and Pike Township on Dec. 12, 2018 and Feb. 3, 2019.

Rebecca Lane, 33, Sayre, entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Borough and Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department both arrested Lane for the offenses on Jan. 4, 2019.

Derek Reed, 23, Sayre, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Corruption of Minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Reed will be sentenced on July 25, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Reed following investigation of an incident that occurred in Sayre Borough in July.

Gunnar Wesneski, 21, Canton, entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of two counts of Theft of a Firearm, a felony of the second degree, and Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Wesneski will be sentenced on July 25, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Borkowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wesneski following investigation of incidents that occurred in Canton Township.

Carl R. Coon, 25, of Athens entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Coon will be sentenced on July 1, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Eric Eccker of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Coon for the offense on Nov. 18, 2018.

Colby Lawton, 23, of Athens entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Lawton will be sentenced on July 1, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Eric Eccker of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Lawton for the offense on Nov. 18, 2018.

James Carr, 28, of Towanda entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Carr will be sentenced on July 25, 2019, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Carr for the offense on Dec. 8, 2018.

ARDs

Michael Toomey, 59, of Sodus, New York, charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Toomey will be subject to supervision by the by the Bradford County Probation Department which will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Toomey must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel. He will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privileges for 30 days. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges in Nov. 11, 2018 for the offense in Athens Township.

John Frisbie, 53, of Waverly, New York, charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Frisbie will be subject to supervision by the by the Bradford County Probation Department which will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Frisbie must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel. He will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privileges for 60 days. Officer Casey Shiposh of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges in Nov. 21, 2018 for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Dennis Brotzman, 36, of New Albany, charged with the offense of Endangering the Welfare of Children, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Brotzman will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Brotzman must perform 12 hours of community service and attend a parenting class. Trooper Michael Tracy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brotzman for the offense on Aug. 9, 2018 in New Albany Borough.

NOLO CONTENDERE

Mark Arlan Briggs, 51, of Gillett entered a plea of no contest to Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the first degree. Briggs will be sentenced on July 22, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A plea of no contest is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Trooper Michael Mogish of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Briggs following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wells Township on Feb. 10, 2018.

Brett Eberlin, 34, of Towanda entered a plea to no contest to Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Eberlin will be sentenced on July 1, 2019 following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A plea of no contest is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Eberlin for the offense in Nov. 20, 2018.
