Burglary being investigated

The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating a burglary at 708 Babcock Hill Road in Windham Township.

According to police, the incident took place on March 28 and involved forced entry via the side door to the entrance. There were broken glass panes and a stolen hot water heater bladder valued at $200. Items in the home were also ransacked.

Rear end crash

A 1998 Dodge Caravan had to be towed from the scene after rear-ending a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox that had been slowing to a stop for an oncoming school bus around 3:15 p.m. on March 27 on Route 6 in Troy Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the drivers of both vehicles and the passengers in the Dodge Caravan were not injured. No charges were filed.

Theft by deception

The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating a fraudulent Comcast account that had been created in the name of a 46-year-old woman from Wysox by someone in Ware, Massachusetts. According to police, the value of the theft equalled $478.70.

Crash in Wysox

Jeremiah J. Chilson, 29, of Towanda, faces a charge of moving stopped or parked vehicle after Pennsylvania State Police say his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado struck a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander while it was pulling out of a parking lot onto Route 6 during the morning hours of March 21 in Wysox. Neither driver was injured. Both vehicles were move off of the roadway by the time police arrived.

DUI arrest

A Feb. 25 call for a disabled motorist in the center of Golden Mile Road in Wysox led to the DUI arrest of 45-year-old George Heskell of Wyalusing, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Airlines scam

The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating an internet scam after a victim from Columbia Cross Roads, believing that she was dealing with Delta Airlines, used $900 worth of Google gift cards to purchase flight tickets.


Citations for harassment were issued against two unidentified residents – a 57-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman – of Smith’s Personal Care Home in Wyalusing after a verbal argument turned physical on March 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Single vehicle crash

Christopher A. Owenburg, 31, of Troy, faces a charge of driving on roadways laned for traffic after Pennsylvania State Police say his vehicle hit a ditch while traveling Route 14 in South Creek Township around 3:37 a.m. on March 17.
