Wyalusing institutional sexual assault

David Goodwin, 47, of Athens is facing sexual assault related charges following an incident in Wyalusing.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident that occurred at the Wyalusing American Legion. The victim was working for Secure Rehabilitation Vocational Enterprise program and was assigned to clean with Goodwin who was the “job coach” for the S.E.R.V.E. program. Goodwin is accused of placing a hand on the victim’s mouth and another hand down the victim’s pants.

Goodwin is facing charges of felony institutional sexual assault in the third degree, felony aggravated indecent assault — comp. suffers mental dis. in the second degree, misdemeanor indecent assault person with mental disability and summary violation harassment — subject other to physical contact.

Goodwin is on $10,000 unsecured bail and has a preliminary hearing on July 9 with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Terry DUI

Scott Kingston, 40, of Wyalusing is facing a charge of misdemeanor DUI: general impairment of driving safely — first offense and summary violation careless driving following an incident on May 20.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Kingston’s State Parole Agent observed Kingston pulling into a driveway and Kingston admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages prior to driving to the officer. A standard field sobriety test was performed by the Pennsylvania State Police due to Kingston having slurred speech and glossy eyes. Kingston was taken in for a blood draw which revealed a .078 + .005 g/100mL., according to the police.

Kingston has a preliminary hearing on Aug. 16 with Magisterial District Judge Todd Carr.

Wysox simple assault

Harold Howell Jr., 30, of Towanda is facing charges of misdemeanor simple assault in the second degree and summary violation harassment — subject other to physical contact following an incident at the McDonald’s in Wysox on June 15.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the restaurant after Howell reported that he had been in a physical domestic incident with a victim. Howell is accused of striking the victim on the left eye causing a deep laceration.

Howell is on $10,000 unsecured bail and has a preliminary hearing on June 25 with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Wysox DUI

Shelby Nonnemacher of Towanda is facing DUI related charges following an incident near the intersection of Route 6 and Route 187 in Wysox on April 17.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the Pennsylvania State Police witnessed Nonnemacher driving a vehicle with an expired vehicle registration. A traffic stop was conducted and Nonnemacher admitted to having no insurance and registration, according to police. Nonnemacher was asked to perform a standard field sobriety test after giving signs of impairment and was taken for a blood draw which revealed the presence of amphetamine, methamphetamine, buprenorphine, oxycodone and norbuprenorphine.

Nonnemacher is facing charges of misdemeanor DUI: controlled substance — schedule two or three — first offense, summary violation vehicle registration suspended, summary violation driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, summary violation operating vehicle without required financial responsibility and summary violation operating vehicle without valid inspection.

Nonnemacher has a preliminary hearing on Aug. 2 with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Sayre simple assault

Carrie McKean, 49, and John McKean, 59, of Sayre are facing charges following a physical altercation on June 11.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Sayre Borough police were dispatched to Tioga Street for a physical altercation between the McKeans. Police met with both McKeans and each gave accounts of their injuries. John had scratches and dried blood on his face, had been spat on multiple times, broken false teeth, red marks on his left shoulder, and had been punched in the chest by Carrie McKean who knew he had a bad heart, according to the affidavit. Carrie McKean had marks consistent with being choked, and broken glasses. John McKean was found in the possession of two hydrocodone/acetaminophen pills.

John McKean is facing charges of felony strangulation — applying pressure to throat or neck in the second degree, misdemeanor intentional possession of controlled substance by per not regulation, summary violation criminal mischief — damage property and summary violation harassment — subject other to physical contact.

Carrie McKean is facing charges of misdemeanor simple assault in the second degree, summary violation criminal mischief — damage property and summary violation harassment — subject other to physical contact.

Carrie McKean is in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on June 25 with Magisterial District Judge Larry Hurley.

John McKean is in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on June 25 with Magisterial District Judge Larry Hurley.

Terry Township theft

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of hand tools from a Scrib Meadow Road residence in Terry Township on June 6. The various hand tools and Dewalt power drill were taken from an outside carport. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.

Wells burglary

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an attempted burglary at a Mott Town Road residence in Wells that occurred between May 27 and June 6. An unknown actor attempted to pry open two doors without success before fleeing the scene.

Wysox cruelty to animals

An investigation is being conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police into a report of animal cruelty on Tulip Lane in Wysox on June 7. Three young kittens were found to have injuries that appeared to have been sustained by a pellet gun. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.

Monroe scattering rubbish

The Pennsylvania State Police conducted an investigation into scattered rubbish along the roadway on Forked Road. Household waste, mattresses, tires and other assorted waste was found. Gyla Stroud, 47, of Towanda was cited with scattering rubbish and PennDOT employees cleaned up the garbage, according to the police.

Ulster theft

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, an investigation is being conducted into the theft of $510 from a Second Street residence in Ulster on June 7. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.

Sayre disorderly conduct

Lori Markle, 48, of Sayre is facing disorderly conduct related charges following an incident on North Keystone Avenue in Sayre on June 12.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Sayre Borough police were dispatched due to a reported domestic. Markle is accused of yelling and swearing at officers to detain a man with warrants at her residence. Markle did not stop her behavior and was taken for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to the affidavit.

Markle is facing charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct obscene language/gestures in the third degree, misdemeanor terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and summary violation public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

Markle is in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on June 25 with Magisterial District Judge Larry Hurley.

I-86 DUI

Ajia Key, 23, of Buffalo is facing DUI related charges following a motor vehicle accident on I-86 on April 27.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Sayre Borough police were dispatched to the scene and found Key as the driver. Key stated that she had consumed marijuana that morning after officers found marijuana ash on the floorboard of the vehicle. A Waverly officer had seen Key dispose of a suspected marijuana roach from her vehicle as well. A standard field sobriety test was performed and Key told an officer that marijuana would be found in her suitcase.

Key is facing charges of misdemeanor DUI: general impairment of driving safely — first offense, misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and summary violation fail to keep right.

Key has a preliminary hearing on July 9 with Magisterial District Judge Larry Hurley.

Sayre DUI

Jonathon Merrill, 22, of Waverly is facing DUI related charges following an incident on North Keystone Avenue in Sayre on May 18.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Sayre Borough police observed Merrill driving with a completely smashed passenger side windshield and a loud exhaust. Merrill pulled into the Family Dollar parking lot and pulled around to the side of the building. Sayre Borough police initiated a traffic stop and detected the odor of marijuana. Merrill admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day before the traffic stop. Drug paraphernalia and marijuana shake were found in the vehicle among its passengers and Merrill was taken for a blood draw after showing signs of impairment during the standard field sobriety test. Merrill had T.H.C. appear in his blood draw.

Merrill is facing charges of misdemeanor DUI: controlled substance — schedule one — first offense and misdemeanor DUI: controlled substance — metabolite — first offense.

Merrill has a preliminary hearing on July 19 with Magisterial District Judge Todd Carr.

Elkland theft

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a reported theft that occurred on McCarthy Ridge Road on May 31. Multiple items were removed from the location without permission and the Pennsylvania State Police have developed a possible suspect.
