Wysox false imprisonment
Jason Vanderpool, 28, of Wysox is facing charges of misdemeanor false imprisonment in the second degree and summary violation harassment following an incident in Wysox on April 29.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to a Wysox residence for the report of an active domestic. A trooper spoke with the victim who stated that Vanderpool had grabbed her by the foot and dragged her across the floor. The victim also accused Vanderpool of throwing and striking her with household items.
Vanderpool is accused of securing the windows in the residence and not allowing the victim to leave the bedroom while he was at work. Vanderpool set up a game camera to ensure the victim didn’t leave the room according to the affidavit.
Vanderpool is in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $30,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing on May 14 with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.
Wysox drug possession
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 18-year-old Destin Moore of Rome and 19-year-old Gavin Teel of Towanda are facing drug possession related charges after a traffic stop in the area of Masonite Road in Wysox. Moore was found to be in possession of a small amount marijuana and under the influence as the operator of the vehicle and Teel was found to be in the possession of a small amount of marijuana as well.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 60-year-old Jeffrey Root of Monroeton was cited for harassment after unwanted physical contact with a 13-year-old victim between Dec. 20, 2018 and April 1.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of multiple items from a construction site near Polish Lane in Wyalusing that occurred between April 29 and April 30. The stolen items included a red Honda EU 2000 generator, STIHL chop saw, and two five gallon gas cans. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an attempted burglary of a Wilmot Road residence in Wilmot that occurred between Jan. 31 and April 25. The unknown actor attempted to gain entry to the residence and surrounding sheds to no avail, but did steal a trail camera at the rear of the residence and fled the scene undetected. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of a pedal bicycle that occurred on South Main Street in Towanda between April 20 and April 27. The bicycle is a child’s Mongoose BMX bicycle that is silver/chrome in color. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police release report, troopers responded to the theft of a pull behind utility trailer that was taken from a Main Street location in Rome on April 9. The Pennsylvania State Police are still investigating at this time.
