Burton “Beetle” Maurice Jones, age 74, of Wyalusing, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his home with his loving family at his side.

Burton was born on March 25, 1945, in Sayre, a son of the late Armsby and Christine Bishop Jones. He was more commonly referred to by many as “Beetle” or “Beet.” He graduated from Wyalusing High School in the class of 1963 and immediately went into farming. Beetle retired from dairy farming in 1983 and started working at Proctor and Gamble in Mehoopany, where he worked for 20 years before retiring in 2003.

Beetle married the former Cindy Brotzman, on June 30, 1990; they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary last year. Beetle enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dog Happy usually close by.

Surviving are: spouse, Cindy, at home; sons, Jeremy (Carrie) Jones, York, Zachary S. Jones, Auburn, Alabama, Justin B. (Amanda) Jones, Herrick Twp.; grandchildren, Dawcin, Maddux, Carter, Sara, Austin, and Calvin; sisters, Patty Jones Weaver, Towanda, Beverly Ann Lockmondy, Mishawaka, Indiana; and brother, Armsby Walters, Warren Center.
