Debra A. Leonard, 58, of Towanda, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Debra was born in Towanda, on June 18, 1960, the daughter of Earl Richard Brown and Ellen L. Leonard Brown. She was a graduate of Towanda Area High School with the class of 1978.

Debra was employed as a direct support professional with Futures Community Services in Towanda for 10 years.

Debra was an active supporter of the recovery community in Towanda. She attended the Victory Church in Troy. Debra was strong in her faith and never gave up.

Debra loved the outdoors, fishing, attending the Snake Hunt, and looked forward to her camping trip every year. Surviving are her son, John Leonard and wife, Jess of York; daughter, Destiny Coyne of Towanda; granddaughters, Kyleigh Roof and Mikaela Johnson; sister, Denice Kulseth and husband, John of Friday Harbor, Washington; brother, Derek Brown of Silver Spring, Maryland; as well as several nieces; nephews; cousins; special friends; Lucy Vanderpool and family; her canine companion, Bailey and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Debra was predeceased by her brother, Dean E. Brown and canine companion, Trouble.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with Pastor John Wiles officiating. Memories and condolences may be expressed by visiting www.bowenfuneralhomes.com.
