Fred W. Bump, 90, of Towanda, “Toytown,” passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Fred was born on March 24, 1929 in Towanda.

In earlier years, Fred worked at the Berlinger Silk Mill, for Towanda Borough, and at Ingersoll-Rand. He retired from GTE Sylvania in 1989 after 36 years of service.

In earlier years with his wife, Bea, Fred enjoyed boating, water-skiing, swimming, traveling, motorcycling, and they were often seen taking daily walks. They especially enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting with family and friends.

Fred is survived by his grandson, Zachary Braddock, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends and neighbors.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Bump in November 2016; sons, Gary Bump in 1973 and Robert Braddock in 2016; grandson, Robert Bump in 2016; parents, Paul and Blanche Capwell Bump; sisters, Beatrice Streby and Pauline Johnson; brothers, Alfred Bump, Clayton Bump, Floyd Bump, and Carl Bump.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda with Pastor Timothy Geiger officiating. There are no calling hours. Suggested memorial contributions may be directed to the Towanda Oak Hill Cemetery Association in care of Jean Miller, Secretary-Treasurer, 602 S.
