Kimberly Ann (Palmer) Brown, 45, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday morning, April 16, 2019 following a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer that had spread to her lungs and brain. She was born Nov. 3, 1973 in Towanda, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Robert “Bob” Eugene Palmer and Kathlene Ann (Kilmer) Best. Kim loved the Canton area and resided there her entire life.

She was a savvy businesswoman, the owner of Kim’s Salon, and a successful cosmetologist in the Canton area for almost 30 years. She was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge and an active member in the Women’s Auxiliary at the Canton American Legion where she started the cancer care packages for local residents battling cancer. Kim was also an active member of the Grover Church of Christ. Her faith deepened while going through personal battles. She loved participating in their choirs and served others through various supportive roles.

Kim was a positive and strong woman who truly cared about everyone in the community. She was a true friend and loved by many. She enjoyed spending time with her clients and created a special bond with them. She always said that she loved her profession because she could help a person feel better before leaving her salon. Kim was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed her family. Kim will be remembered for her happy, positive attitude and keen eye for beauty. She thoroughly enjoyed being outside, gardening, working on her property, hunting and “jeeping” for charities. Her flowerbeds were her pride and joy. She enjoyed hiking to Cedar Ledge Rocks reveling in the solace and beauty of the Earth.

Surviving are: her mother and step father, Kathlene (Dale) Best, of Canton; her father and step mother, Robert (Ruth) Palmer, of Canton; daughters, Rebecca (Copy) Ragan of Montoursville; and Trisha Brown of Canton; brothers, Sam (Penny) Palmer of Canton; Ron (Linda) Palmer of Lone Oak, Texas; sister, Bobbie Jean (John) Bassett of Throop; and a grandson, Chance Ragan “Little Man” of Montoursville; and numerous special friends. Kim’s radiant smile will always be in our hearts and memories.

A memorial service to honor Kim’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. There will be no calling hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kim’s name to the Canton Legion Auxiliary Cancer Fund, 465 Springbrook Drive, Canton, or to the Grover Church of Christ 489 Grover Rd., Grover, PA 17735.
