Sue Anne Keiffer, 79 of Canton, formerly of Dryden, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Sue Anne was born in Midland, on Aug. 5, 1939 to the late Wellington “Tam” and Virginia (Hall) Graham. On June 27, 1959, she married the love of her life, Edward “Eddie” Keiffer in the St. John’s Methodist Church in Grover, sharing 60 wonderful years together. Upon graduating from Canton Area High School, class of 1958, Sue was employed for several years by George Jr. Republic Private School in Freeville, New York, and later by Dr. Donlick as a medical assistant in Groton, New York for 15 years.

Sue’s biggest accomplishment in her life was her family, especially her three daughters. She was lovingly known as the family’s “mama bear.” Sue enjoyed time spent with her family, picnics at any time of the year and the hunting cabin in Roaring Branch. She had a huge love of all animals and always hoped that nobody was successful in their hunt at camp. Sue was an avid golfer, once earning a hole in one.

Sue and Eddie always looked forward to traveling to Alexandria Bay on the Saint Lawrence River. She was also very proud of her husband Eddie’s football history at Canton High and Syracuse University. Sue was a woman of the Christian faith and loved the Lord.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant son, Klarck.

Surviving Sue is her husband, Edward “Eddie” Keiffer of Canton; three daughters, Kari (Donald) Harper of Lisle, New York, Kelli (William) Fuller of Cincinnatus, New York and Kristi (Gregory) Nelson of Canton; two brothers, Wellington “Tim” Graham of Roaring Branch, Wade (Dorothie) Graham of Canton; a sister, Sheri (William) Cowan of Covington; grandchildren, Jesse, Jamie, Joseph, Kyle, Jordan, Keegan, Mason, Derek, Dana, Dustin, Jenna and David; great-grandchildren, Emma, Paisley, Reese, Logan, Aleena, Killian and Autumn.

A memorial service to honor Sue’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton, with Rev. David Rentzel officiating. There will be no calling hours. Please consider a donation to a charity of one’s choice in Mrs. Keiffer’s memory. The family invites friends to attend a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the service at the Canton Moose Lodge. Share memories and condolences at
