Athens defeated Jersey Shore 11-1 in four innings to claim the minors all-star baseball Section III title Sunday.

A 10-run first inning set the tone for Athens as they never looked back from that.

Duncan Thetga (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game for Athens, scoring a run in the process.

Connor Davidson added a double with 3-RBI and a run scored while Kam Wheeler, Sam Cheresnowsky and Eli Hicks also had hits.

Cheresnowsky and Lucas Shultz both scored twice with Wheeler, Hicks, Alex McQuay, Peter Bertsch and Graham Wanck also crossing home.

Wheeler, Cheresnowsky and Shultz had an RBI a piece.

Hicks went all four innings for the win, holding Jersey Shore to just two hits, one walk and one unearned run.

He struck out two in the win.

Athens will move on to the Pennsylvania state tournament.
