The Canton Warriors improved to 4-0 on the year with a 40-14 win over Bucktail on Friday.

“It feels good,” Canton coach Tyler Sechrist said. “They played well tonight. They did what we asked, they played hard, they came out and executed very well.

“They did a great job and like I said, we are going to take it one game at a time and I’m very happy with the way they executed today.”

Michael Smithers started things with a one-yard touchdown run for Canton in the opening quarter and Levi Gaiotti had a nine-yard run and a two-point conversion by Canton.

Uriah Baillie had a 26-yard pass to Ben Knapp to make it 21-0 in the opening quarter.

Smithers hd a six-yard run in the second quarter and Baillie threw a 33-yard touchdown to Timmy Ward to make it 33-0.

Baillie had a 17-yard touchdown with Curtis Lammy making the extra point.

Baillie was 3-for-6 passing for 102 yards and two scores and he ran for 66 yards and a score and Smithers was 1-for-7 for nine yards passing.

Knapp had two catches for 66 yards and Ward had a 33-yard touchdown catch.

Gaiotti ran for 64 yards on eight carries and Carson Stiner ran for 44 yards, while Ward ran for 30 and Cooper Kitchen ran for 23 yards.
