Izzy Milazzo allowed just three hits and struck out seven in seven innings of shutout softball to lead the Crusaders to their 2-0 win over Odessa-Montour in Section IV playoffs on Thursday.

Taylor VanDine scored on a catcher’s error in the first inning for Notre Dame and the Crusaders rode that one-run lead until the fifth inning, when Ellie Mustico scored Peyton Maloney on a sacrifice fly.

Chloe Stemerman, Milazzo and Maloney each had one hit in the game with Stemerman adding a stolen base.

JoLynn Miller had a double for OM and Grace Vondracek pitched six innings, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out seven.


Waverly 1, Odessa-Montour-Watkins Glen 0 (8 innings)

Bradey Roney pitched an eight-inning shut out, striking out seven and allowing four hits in Waverly’s 1-0 walk-off win over OMWG in Section IV playoffs on Thursday evening.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, with two outs, Montana Davis hit a line-drive single to center field to score Ethan Lloyd for the walk-off win.

For Waverly, Davis had three hits and one RBI, Lloyd finished with one run, and Jason Morales and Chandler Whitmarsh each had one hit.
