SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — — The North came up short in the District 4 all-star football game on Friday 19-7 at South Williamsport High School.
North Penn-Mansfield’s Garrett David had the North’s touchdown.
South struck first with 55 seconds left in the half as Benjamin Swineford caught an 18-yard touchdown from Philip Davis and Brendan Gregory hit the extra point.
The South made it 13-0 with 39 seconds left in the third quarter when Jase Wright scored on a three-yard run.
The North got within 13-7 as David hauled in the 26-yard touchdown from Brayden Strouse and Cameron Griffin hit the extra point with 9:58 left in the game.
Davis capped the win for the South with a one-yard touchdown with 3:44 left to finish the scoring.
David led the North on the ground with 44 yards on six carries and he added the 26-yard touchdown catch.
Levi Gaiotti of Canton had seven carries for 19 yards in the game. Blaze McClements had 24 yards on the ground for the North.
Dylan Wilt of Muncy had two catches for 44 yards and Nick Colton of Troy had a catch for 13 yards, while CV’s Tyler Shadle had a three-yard catch.
Davis, of Milton, was 8-for-15 passing for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Wellsboro’s Hunter Brown had eight tackles in the game and his Wellsboro teammate Robert Brown had six tackles.
Gaiotti had five tackles in the game.
Bailey Cohick of Troy had four tackles and picked off a pass in the game. Nate Garrity of Sayre had two tackles in the game.
Sayre’s Gage Carnrike and Devin Ervin each had tackles and Colton also had a tackle.
