TIOGA CENTER, N.Y. — The Tigers pounded out 11 hits as they routed Harpursville 11-3 in Section IV, Class C quarterfinal baseball action Monday.

They will host Edison on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.

The Tigers scored six of their runs in the second thanks to a 3-RBI double from Booser.

They added another run in the third, two more in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Booser (3-for-5) had the big day at the plate, scoring once as well.

Brady Worthing (2-for-4) and Thomas Cook (2-for-3) also had multi-hit games. Both scored twice with Cook adding an RBI.

Pierce Hendershot had a ground rule double to go with three walks, two runs and an RBI.

John Worthing, Adrian Weaver and Seth Franks also had hits. Weaver knocked in three runs with a run scored while Worthing also had an RBI.

Derrick Gage and Derrick Barto both scored twice.

Hendershot started and went four innings for the win, striking out four with no walks, four hits and one earned run.

Gage went the final three innings, striking out three with three walks, two hits and two earned runs.

Waverly 8, Owego 6

The Wolverines used a 4-run top of the sixth to pick up the Section IV, Class B quarterfinal baseball win Monday.

They will travel to top seed Susquehanna Valley on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.

Waverly jumped right out of the gate with two runs in the top of the first as Jalen McCarty and Ethan Stotler scored on a pair of ground outs.

In the top of the second Cole Jenner scored on a error to make it 3-0.

Owego rattled off four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead, adding another run in the fifth to go up by two runs.

Then in the top of the sixth Waverly had their big inning. Davis singled followed by Stotler getting beaned and Caden Hollywood reaching on a fielder’s choice bunt to load the bases.

Jenner drew a 4-pitch walk to cut it to 5-4 followed by Austin Ellers bringing in Stotler on a ground out.

Two batters later Jay Pipher singles in Hollywood and Jenner to make it a 7-5 Waverly.

Both teams scored a run in the seventh for the 8-6 final.

Jenner had a double with McCarty, Sindoni, Davis and Pipher getting the other Waverly hits. McCarty and Jenner each scored twice as Sindoni, Davis, Stotler and Hollywood also found home.

Hollywood started and earned the win, going six innings to strikeout six while allowing four hits, four walks and six earned runs.

Stotler came on to pitch the seventh, striking out one while issuing one walk.

Lansing 8, Notre Dame 1

SOUTHPORT N.Y. — A 4-run top seventh by Lansing put the game away for them in Section IV, Class C baseball action Monday.

They led 4-0 when Notre Dame got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth as Isaiah McKay scored on a Joe Milazzo single.

However, in their next at bat Lansing rattled off four runs for the win.

McKay, Milazzo, Ryess Youmans, Hunter Homerda and Owen Stewart at the five Crusader hits.

Homerda went the distance for Notre Dame in the loss, striking out eight while allowing 11 hits, four walks and six earned runs of the eight.
