There were some big plans for the future of Towanda boys’ soccer.

After the urging and support of the coaches and community the school brought back the junior high soccer program, hoping it would improve their overall programs.

Now, the school has some needs of people to lead the boys programs.

The school currently needs a head boys’ varsity coach and a junior high coach.

The varsity coach got a job out of the area and had to leave the position, and to this point the school has no applicants for the junior high position.

The school is looking for coaches that can help lead these programs into the future.

“We are at a critical juncture with our soccer programs,” Towanda Athletic Director Paul Lantz said. “Having our boys varsity coach resign at this time, leaves our kids with no summer workouts and no direction in the off season. Getting these coaches in place as soon as possible is crucial for this season and future successes of our programs.

“We must have a varsity head coach that is willing to work with the youth and JH programs to ensure fundamentals are being taught throughout. We also need a quality coach at the JH level. This is the athletes first interaction with high school sports. We need a person that instills the beliefs and coaching style of the varsity coaches while creating accountability, responsibility, passion and love for the game. “
