The Towanda Minors baseball team picked up a 12-6 win over Alleghany Mountain on Sunday to open bracket play.

Towanda now takes on the winner of Troy and Wellsboro on Tuesday.

Towanda scored nine second-inning runs to break the game open.

Hayden Jones and Lucas Vincent each had home runs. Jones scored two runs and Vincent scored three runs in the game.

Gage Evans had a hit and scored two runs and Boom Thompson scored a run, while Harper Welles had a hit.

Graham Welles scored a run and had a hit and Reese Sluyter had a double, while Brad DiCupillo scored a run.

Aiden Vanderpool scored a run.

Graham Welles, Reese Sluyter and Vanderpool pitched in the game.

In other action Athens beat Susquehanna County 11-1.
