TOWANDA — Towanda minors baseball All-Stars stayed alive as they bested Wellsboro 11-1 in four innings during District 15 action Tuesday.
With the win they will now travel to Athens on Thursday. Should Athens prevail they will be crowned district champions, if Towanda wins then the two teams will meet for a winner-take-all game on Saturday in Towanda.
Gage Evans (2-for-3) and Reese Sluyter (2-for-3) had the big bats for Towanda as they both rocked doubles and scored twice.
Graham Welles walked in all three plate appearances, scoring each time while Curtis Maynard had two hits and a run scored.
Lucas Vincent had a hit with a run scored while Boom Thompson and Brad Dicupillo both scored. Aiden Vanderpool added a double.
Thompson got the win, going 3 1/3-innings to strikeout four with three hits, two walks and one run.
Dicupillo tossed the final two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit.
For Wellsboro R.J. Daughtie, Isaiah Kibler, Trevor Martin and Reed Richardson each had a hit while Chase Priest scored their run.
Priest started with Tennis coming on in relief.
