The Wellsboro Hornets scored 10 first-half goals on their way to a 10-1 win over Towanda on Wednesday.

Brett Rudy scored at 36:38 and he scored again at 35:29 off a Will Poirier assist.

Poirier had a goal at 33:01 and he scored off a Rudy assist at 32:09.

At 27:48 Cam Tennis headed in a corner from Poirier and Kaedn Mann scored off a Poirier assist at 2:55. Joseph Grab scored back-to-back goals at 24:34 and 18:06 and Mann scored off an assist from Holden Kennedy at 15:04.

Freshman Ethan Barlett scored his first varsity goal at 3:02.

Ryan Risch scored for Towanda with 2:05 left in the game.

Wellsboro had 20 shots and four corner kicks and Ethan Ryan had six saves for the Hornets.

Towanda had nine shots and three corner kicks and Bryant Green had five saves.

“Playing following our double overtime match the night before certainly brought fatigue into the equation,” Wellsboro coach Todd Fitch said. “Fortunately, the boys were able to get an early lead and establish a bit of a cushion, which allowed us to get some guys some needed rest and provided others with significant playing time. Hopefully we are rested and have recovered for our senior night match tonight.”

Sullivan County 3, Muncy 2

Cameron Fiester had a pair of goals to lead the Griffins to the win on Wednesday.

Brian Lewis scored in the fourth minute off a Trace Neary corner.

A Sullivan own goal tied the game for Muncy.

Fiester scored in the 18th minute off a Lewis cross and Fiester scored the eventual winner in the 44th minute. Nathan Weatherhold scored for Muncy in the 45th minute.

Sullivan County had 13 shots and nine corners and Muncy had four shots and seven corner kicks.

Owen Schweitzer had two saves in goal for the Griffins.

Muncy won the JV game 1-0.

Sullivan hosts Millville at 4 p.m. on Friday.
